The Lexus UX (U=Urban+X for crossover) is based on the Lexus Global Architecture-Compact (GA-C) platform. This unibody, five passenger crossover has been designed as a dynamic, engaging driver with a Lexus-smooth demeanor, which is everything a young first time- or more seasoned buyer will appreciate when experiencing the new Lexus UX.

Available in three configurations ranging from standard UX 200, enthusiast-oriented F-Sport and the energy-efficient but powerful UX 250h hybrid range, the UX has a flavor for nearly every style of driver. Power comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque for efficient urban discover, wherever you should decide to go. Power is transferred to the pavement through a 10-speed Direct Shift continuously variable transmission (CVT) that offers engaging performance with more efficiency. Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-iE) helps to enhance drivability while reducing emissions. The UX 250h takes advantage of the extra horsepower from the hybrid powerplant, which boasts of 181 total horsepower from the combination of gas engine and electric motor.

F-Sport performance is available on both the regular and hybrid versions of the UX crossover. An exclusive tuned suspension includes revised springs and stabilizer bars, 18-inch wheels, and a new grille design start the process. It is completed by the addition of a new performance front fascia, followed by a revised rear bumper that helps to complete the look.

The new Lexus UX crossover represents a natural progression in the compact CUV segment. Featuring a grille inspired by the spindle grille found on other Lexus models, it possesses a unique three-dimensional appearance that changes depending on your viewing angle. The headlamps complete the UX's face, giving it a confident gaze. The Lexus L-shaped beams give the appearance of brows above the standard single-projector dual-beam LED headlights or the optional ultra-small 3-projector LED units. It's the progressive new look of Lexus SUVs.

These in turn, lead to the crisp, sharp angles seen all around the vehicle. Dramatically flared fenders lead into an aerodynamic shape that leads to a prominent, sport-like stance. Inside, the Lexus UX cabin has been designed to feel like a luxury sedan but with the higher seating and versatility that are characteristic of a crossover design. Interior visibility is enhanced via a Japanese design technique known as "Engawa," which creates an effect that causes it to appear that the dashboard extends outward towards the front fenders.

From the driver's position, the UX makes the driver feel more in reach of the controls that are actually vital during operation. This way, all the controls are right where the driver would expect them to be, in a very natural position. Technology is all around, as well, including the standard 7-inch Lexus Multimedia System (LMS) or the optional 10.25-inch display that is part of the Lexus Navigation System.

Lexus did not forget safety either, equipping the UX with all the latest including the Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 kit which includes Pre-collision with Pedestrian Detection, All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure alert with steering assist and Lane Tracing Assist. Available Parking Support Alert and Parking Support Brake can alert you to rear cross traffic or to any obstructions, causing the UX to stop automatically.
