Lexus RZ: the answer to an electric RX

If you found yourself looking for an all-electric RX, you may have been a bit bummed that Lexus hasn't released one yet. However, that doesn't mean you're out of luck. With the release of the RZ, Lexus' first fully electric SUV, you now have the option of a midsize Lexus SUV that comes standard with an electric motor. While the style isn't a perfect one-for-one comparison, the RZ offers a similarly sized vehicle with roughly the same passenger and cargo space while delivering plug-in electric performance. Lexus RZ: inside this fully electric SUV

When it comes to the Lexus RZ, the inside can be defined simply with one word: tranquility. The driving experience is well thought out in the RZ with steering wheel controls, a well-placed instrument panel for better visibility, and an optional 10-inch head-up display. With its compact powertrain and carefully positioned wheels, the RZ manages to create a generous amount of space for all passengers. For those who want a warm and inviting cabin experience, radiant heaters located at the bottom of the front console efficiently warm the legs and feet of front passengers. Lexus also put a huge focus on "sound space" when engineering the RZ. A slimmer A-pillar for better airflow management, a continuous hood seal to reduce wind noise, sound-dampening materials, and Active Sound Control all lead to a more serene environment. On top of that, available ambient illumination provides soft, indirect lighting that enhances the RZ interiors, with the luxury trim featuring a multi-color option that allows users to select from 50 colors and 14 themes.  Finally, the Dynamic Sky panoramic glass roof features a dimming option that quickly limits light entering the space. Lexus RZ: Style, Size & More

If you're a fan of the RX, you'll be pleased to learn that the RZ and RX are fairly similarly styled. Lexus utilized the new spindle body design for the RZ. It replaces the traditional spindle grille seen in previous models, which actually started with the 2023 RX. This design features a unique roof spoiler that helps reduce aerodynamic drag. The roof, trunk, and underbody are all crafted to enhance airflow, allowing it to move smoothly over the vehicle. The main difference between these two midsize SUVs would be in the front. The RZ has a lower hood and a minimal front grille opening, with most of the front end being either solid black or color-matching depending on which trim you choose. In the rear, the spelled-out LEXUS logo is positioned on the horizontal rear combination lamps, with a lowered center section of the red lens that highlights the logo and gives it a sharp appearance. The RZ comes with either 18- or 20-inch rims depending on trim levels.
