Lexus LS: Models, Comfort features & More

For 35 years, the LS has been a preeminent option on the luxury sedan market. The LS has always been about maximum comfort in a sedan package, and this current iteration is no different. As an official Lexus LS dealer, we've been working with the LS for a long time and would like to offer our insights as to what makes this such a special vehicle. Now available with either a twin-turbo V6 gas engine or a hybrid powertrain, the LS offers the dynamic performance of a smaller sports sedan without sacrificing rear passenger space or trunk space. It offers unique customization options for technology and amenities that will have you feeling completely pampered. Upgrades such as the Executive Package can even modify the LS to include massage features throughout the vehicle. Continue below as we take you inside and out of the LS, discussing the best features, performance, and model differences.

If you are currently shopping for an LS in the southern Wisconsin region, Lexus of Brookfield is a great option for all of your Lexus needs. We offer complimentary test drives on all our vehicles and offer a diverse range of Lexus models. Our LS specialist can further break down all the features and benefits of all trims and packages. Lexus LS: Inside Our Most Luxurious Sedan

While the design and overall performance are fantastic, when it comes to the Lexus LS, the inside is what separates it from other luxury sedans. Even the most basic LS 500 with no package upgrades provides a ton of comfort and tech features. 16-way power-adjustable front seats are heated and ventilated, as well as a heated leather steering wheel. Active Sound Control and Active Noise Cancellation combined with a 12-speaker audio system keep your drive serene. The LS also includes tech that keeps the driver informed and in control with tech like the standard 10-in head-up display. Keep in mind these are just standard features. Optional package upgrades offer you the opportunity to enhance amenities while adding luxurious stylistic elements such as the ornate Kiriko glass accents. Overall, the LS can range from deluxe to absolutely lavish.

If you have specific goals for your next luxury vehicle in mind, why not sit down with one of Lexus of Brookfield's LS specialists? We can get you inside an LS or custom order one with any specific package you may want. Visit us today at 20001 W Bluemound Rd, Brookfield, WI 53045.

Lexus LS: Spacious with legroom to spare

The LS comes standard with a 5-seat configuration, with most upgrades reducing it to a 4-passenger capacity. Versions with 5 passengers are functionally a 4-passenger sedan, meaning that while they have a rear middle seat, this is not necessarily ideal to use every day. The good news is the other 4 seats are absolutely deluxe. This isn't necessarily the family sedan, nor does it try to be. It does, however, comfortably seat four passengers. With an emphasis on the word comfortably. Front passengers have 41 inches of legroom, but rear passengers are only minimally behind that at 38.9 inches. There really isn't a bad seat in the house, especially when you consider all the massage options and functionality available for both rows. And if you have any concerns that this legroom would come at the cost of the LS' trunk space, you will be happy to know that it still comes with 16.95 cu ft of space.

Lexus LS: Comfort features

No matter which version of the LS you choose, you can rest assured that comfort is the standard. The LS offers three distinct trims, the base LS, F Sport, and hybrid LS, that offer a variety of amenities. Understanding what the LS offers can be a little tricky, as on top of the upgrades of each trim level, Lexus offers several package upgrades that technically don't count as a different trim. Package upgrades are only available for the base-level LS. While this can be a little confusing, the benefit is you can focus on getting a little more specific with the features that are a must-have and decide whether you want to spend extra on some of the more deluxe options. This is where a meeting with one of our LS specialists can go a long way in figuring out which LS would be best for you. In the meantime, take a look at our breakdown of the Lexus LS comfort options

LS trims features: The three trims of the LS vary a fair amount in form and function. The base LS offers the most customization with several upgrade packages that we will be breaking down later. Lexus LS: Engine Specs & Performance

The LS offers 2 distinct powertrain options: a standard gas model and a hybrid model. For a full-size sedan, the LS offers dynamic acceleration for either model, with the gas version going 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and the hybrid model reaching it in 5.2 seconds. You will be hard pressed to find other vehicles in this segment that can combine that performance with all of the amenities inside the LS. Beyond that, paddle shifters, drive mode select, and an adaptive variable suspension provide a thrilling ride without sacrificing the smoothness you would expect from a luxury sedan. And if that's not enough for you, upgrading to the F Sport trim offers an F Sport-tuned adaptive variable air suspension as well as a more advanced braking system. Lexus LS: Body Styles

The exterior of the LS is filled with great standard features like a power moonroof, a power trunk with a kick sensor, and Triple-Beam LED headlamps, as well as some fun upgrades such as a windshield wiper de-icer, headlamp washers, and a panoramic glass roof. As far as technology on the outside of the LS goes, most options are available on all trim levels; however, depending on which trim you choose, the LS body style may be altered. While not radically different, Lexus essentially offers 2 different versions of the LS. The first version is on both the base LS and LS 500h. While stylistically updated, they have some more of those classic luxury elements that you would expect, like chrome accents, silver-finished rims, and the standard Lexus' spindle grill. The second option is on the F Sport trims. The F Sport exterior styling includes a modified front bumper, upper and lower grille inserts, a rear diffuser, and lower door trim. Much of the chrome is replaced with black accents, and larger dark grey rims are added. When choosing between the two styles of the LS, it is important to remember that there are more interior luxury options for the base LS. Essentially the decision comes down to, am I looking for that classic luxury, or do I want to lean into the sportiness a bit more?

Visit Lexus of Brookfield to meet one of our experienced LS staff and have them break down the benefit of each trim level for you. When you're ready, we can even place an order for a specific LS you might be interested in.

Lexus LS FAQs

+

The LS does offer a traditional hybrid motor at its highest trim level. The LS 500h is the only current model that offers this. If you are looking for a Lexus LS plug-in hybrid, you are unfortunately out of luck, as currently it is not an option.

+

Yes, the LS is bigger than the ES. The LS is a full-size sedan, whereas the ES falls in the midsize sedan segment. The LS dimensions come in at 206.1 in, 74.8 in, and 57.0 in compared to 195.9 in x 73.4 in x 57.1 in of the ES. The LS is larger by 10.2 inches in length, 1.4 inches in width, and .1 inches in height.

+

There are three trim levels of the LS. The base model LS 500, the LS 500 F Sport, and the LS 500h. On top of that, the base model offers 4 package upgrades that provide additional interior options. The base 500 and 500 F sport also offer all-wheel drive versions as well. If you combine these options, there are upwards of 11 different levels available on the LS.

+

The LS no longer offers a V8 engine and hasn't since 2017. The current iteration of the LS comes standard with a twin-turbo V6, offering better acceleration and gas mileage than the previous V8 engines offered.

+

The LS does require premium 91-octane gas. Lower-graded gas can cause the LS' performance to drop, including worse gas mileage and the potential for engine knocking.

+

Quiet is an understatement with the LS. With active noise cancellation as a standard feature, the LS is optimized to keep your ride as quiet as you want. Additionally, utilizing the active sound control, which allows you to dial in the engine noises to preference as well as the optional Mark Levinson 23-speaker system, leaves you in near complete control of the Lexus LS' sound.
