Lexus IS: Inside a Luxury Sports Sedan

While the sporty design and performance may have brought you to the Lexus IS, inside is where it really separates itself. It should be no surprise that the interior of the IS is designed for the most important person in the car, the driver. The available 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat along with the heating and ventilation function provides a level of comfort that isn't always available in comparable sports sedans. The digital gauge cluster has been upgraded big time to a 12.3-inch display with plenty of customization options, and the now-standard 12.3-inch smart screen display offers all the modern connectivity you would expect. A now-standard panoramic view monitor uses 4 cameras to piece together a bird's-eye view of your surroundings. And for those audiophiles out there, the IS offers an available Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system. In our opinion, if you're looking for a luxury sports sedan as a daily driver, you won't find many better options on the market today.

If you would like to experience the comfort of the IS, visit our Lexus dealership today. We'll get you behind the wheel of an IS as soon as possible. In the meantime, check out our available IS inventory now!

Lexus IS: Comfort in a Sports Car

Lexus IS: Body Styles

While the IS is sporty throughout the model lineup and has now received a stylish facelift. As Lexus puts it the updated front design "accentuates the IS's low center of gravity and wide stance, reinforcing its bold, commanding presence" and we completely agree. All three trim levels of the IS have 19-inch rims, but there is some variance in rear tire size as well as rim style. All IS models now get F Sport Design features, including front and rear bumpers, a grille surround, rocker moldings, a rear spoiler, and a rear valance. The best part about the recent changes is, no matter which trim you choose, you get Lexus' best style features. This is a sports sedan that looks as dynamic as possible on every trim.

Lexus IS FAQs

+

There isn't a clear answer on which Lexus sedan is better. The Lexus IS and ES differences mainly come from the segment of buyers they would like to attract. The IS a sportier sedan with less interior space but better performance. The ES is now exclusively a Hybrid or EV and offers more passenger space. Overall, the ES is a better option for people with long commutes, especially if you need passengers in the rear. The IS is going to provide a more dynamic driving experience with faster acceleration than the entire ES lineup.

+

The IS currently does not offer a hybrid version, with a V6 being the only engine currently offered by Lexus.

+

While the IS 500 is no longer being made, the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 generated 472 hp and 395 lb.-ft. of torque on the F Sport Performance trims produced a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds, which we would definitely say was fast.

+

The IS does require premium 91-octane gas. Lower-graded gas can cause the IS performance to drop, including worse gas mileage and the potential for engine knocking.
