Lexus ES: Inside our most popular sedan

The interior of the ES has all the bells and whistles that you would expect out of a luxury sedan and masterfully combines a driver-focused cockpit with expansive and luxurious spaces for passengers. In simpler terms, this is a fun car to drive that still manages to be comfortable for the rest of your passengers. The ES has a 5-passenger capacity that comfortably fits 4 average-sized adults with good legroom and headroom. Expected features like an 8-inch or available 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, high-end adjustable seating with heating and ventilation options, and quality materials are paired with state-of-the-art features like a head-up display and remote connect. The ES won't leave you with fear of missing out on the latest and greatest tech on the sedan market today, because it already has it. While the stylish exterior design may have led you here, when it comes to the Lexus ES, inside is what takes this from good to exceptional. Experience the luxurious ES interior at our Brookfield Lexus dealer today.

Lexus ES: Comfort

"How comfortable is the Lexus ES?" an important question to ask about any vehicle you're considering, and we would have to answer, "It's a Lexus, and of course it's going to be comfortable.". More importantly, what makes it so comfortable? In our opinion, it's a mixture of being designed with great adjustable seating, plenty of creature comforts, and lots of passenger space. The ES' ample legroom is generously provided in both rows, ensuring comfort for even the tallest passengers, while the seats offer exceptional support. Take a look below at what we consider the factors that make up the ES' comfort:

Seating options:

  • 10-way power-adjustable front seats
  • Perforated NuLuxe® interior trim
  • Lexus Memory System
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Available Driver's-seat power cushion extender
  • Available 14-way power-adjustable driver's seat
  • Available Quilted and perforated semi-aniline leather-trimmed interior

Creature Comforts:

  • Power moonroof
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Available Power rear sunshade with manual rear-door sunshades
  • Available Heated wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel
  • Available fast-response interior heater

Passenger space:

  • Headroom (front/rear) - 37.5 / 37.8 in (with moonroof)
  • Legroom (front/rear) - 42.4 / 39.2 in
  • Shoulder room (front/rear) - 55.9 / 54.3 in
  • Hip room (front/rear) - 55.0 / 54.3 in

Lexus ES: Trunk space

The ES offers 17.0 cubic feet of trunk space, which is on the higher end for luxury midsize sedans. We would point out that the ES does not have folding rear seats, which can limit the occasional need for larger items. But let's put the ES cargo space in practical terms:

How much luggage can fit in the Lexus ES 350? An average large-sized suitcase is around 5 cubic feet, and a small is about 1.8 cubic feet. This would leave you with up to three large suitcases or two large and two small pieces of luggage in the trunk of the ES. Plus, the possibility of adding extra luggage in the rear seats of the ES leaves you plenty of space.

If you're looking for a great luxury sedan for business travel, the ES should be at the top of your list. Trips to Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport or even a long road trip will be a breeze knowing that you have the space to bring everything you need while riding in comfort. Visit Lexus of Brookfield today to see if the ES fits your needs.

Lexus ES: Engine Specs

The ES comes with three distinct engine options that affect overall performance as well as gas mileage. The ES 250 is a great option for those who prefer a well-rounded performance. As the only all-wheel drive option for the ES, the 250 AWD gets good gas mileage, has ok acceleration, and will handle better than most ES models with the exception of upgrading to F Sport packages. The ES 350 is meant for those who prefer speed. As the fastest ES with a 0-60 speed of 6.2 seconds, this is the sportiest option available, especially if you upgrade to the F Sport Handling package. Finally, if you are interested in a hybrid ES option, the ES 300h is the option for you. Visit our certified Lexus ES dealer today to get a breakdown of each engine option. In the meantime, take a look below at the Lexus ES engine specs:

Lexus ES: Luxury Sedan with Dynamic Body Styling

The ES falls into the luxury midsize sedan segment but stylistically is bolder than you would typically find there. The coupe-like silhouette combined with the Lexus Signature Grille makes it feel sporty without sacrificing interior space. This is definitely a have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too kind of vehicle. Each model comes standard with a power tilt-slide moonroof, but for an even more unique style, we suggest the optional panoramic glass roof. It seamlessly blends with the ES' aesthetic and adds a pleasant amount of natural light. The ES comes with 17- to 19-inch rims depending on trim level and also offers some desirable add-ons such as the triple-beam LED headlamps or color-keyed rear spoiler. Overall, if you're in the luxury sedan market, the ES is a unique offering without breaking the bank. Don't take our word for it, though; check out the ES today at our certified Lexus dealer.

What size wheels are on a Lexus ES350?

Wheel sizes on the ES come in either 17, 18, or 19 inches. Each trim has a standard wheel size included; however, there is an option to upgrade to larger rims. Take a look at the Lexus ES wheels available:

  • 17-in twin-V-spoke alloy wheels with a dark metallic and machined finish (standard on base 250 AWD, 350, and 300h models)
  • 18-in split-10-spoke alloy wheels with a two-tone black and machined finish (standard on luxury 250 AWD, 350, and 300h models. Optional upgrade on base 250 AWD, 350, and 300h models.
  • 18-in split-five-spoke alloy noise-reduction wheels with a Vapor Chrome finish (standard on Ultra Luxury 250 AWD, 350, and 300h models. Optional upgrade on Luxury 250 AWD, 350, and 300h models.
  • F SPORT 19-in split-five-spoke alloy wheels with a gloss black finish and black lug nuts (available only on sport and Black Line special edition models).

Lexus ES: Exterior Color Options:

  • Iridium, Cloudburst Gray, Obsidian, and Caviar are available on all ES models.
  • Eminent White Pearl, Matador Red Mica, Moonbeam Beige Metallic, Sunlit Green, and Nightfall Mica are available on all trim levels except F Sport and Black Line Edition.
  • Ultra White is exclusive to F SPORT Design and F SPORT Handling trims.

What is the Lexus Black Line Special Edition?

Lexus ES blacked out

With only 1,000 units throughout North America, the Lexus ES Black Line Special Edition package takes the ES 350 F Sport Handling trim and adds some unique stylistic elements. The Black Line package includes:

  • Striking black outer mirrors
  • Black rear lip spoiler
  • Refined black lower rocker panel
  • F SPORT puddle lamps
  • Elegantly designed door switch plates
  • Standard with 19-in gloss black rims.

The Black line comes in 6 exterior colors and 3 interior finishes, but we recommend the Black NuLuxe and Hadori aluminum trim along with the Obsidian exterior outer coat. This is the closest you will get to a stock blacked-out Lexus ES, and wow, does it look sharp.

Lexus ES FAQs

+

The ES 250 AWD, ES 350, and ES 300h all come standard with paddle-shifting capabilities.

+

Yes. Some trim levels of the ES 350, 250 AWD, and 300h have a 360 camera. You will see this listed as a panoramic view monitor. It comes standard on ultra-luxury trims and is an optional upgrade for luxury trims.

+

The ES 300h has a fuel tank capacity of 13.2 gallons. This is smaller compared to the gas-only options, which have 15.9-gallon tanks. This shouldn't make a huge difference in trips to the gas station, as the 300h gets an estimated 44 MPG compared to the 28 MPG of the ES 250 AWD and the 26 MPG of the ES 350.

+

The ES acceleration depends on the specific powertrain option you choose. With a 0-60 time of 6.2 seconds, the ES 350 is definitely on the faster end. The ES 250 AWD and ES 300h are closer to average with 0-60 times around 8 seconds.

+

The Lexus ES 350 is a V6. Currently there are no options for a V8 engine available on the ES. The 250 AWD and 300h variants are both inline 4 engines.

+

The Lexus ES 350, ES 300h, and ES 250 AWD all use standard 87 octane gas. Many Lexus models require premium gas, so an added benefit of the ES is the more affordable gas option..

+

Some trim levels of the ES do have a power rear sunshade. Luxury trims and higher come standard with a rear shade, whereas the base model has it as an option. Ultra Luxury trims also include manual rear-door sunshades as well.
