Lexus LX: Inside Refined Luxury

While the new design is definitely a draw, when it comes to the Lexus LX, inside is where the magic happens. The LX's interior is deluxe from front to back. Luxurious touches such as quilted leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped dashboard, elegant wood trim, and smoked-chrome accents create a refined atmosphere within the cabin. Drivers of the LX have access to three different screens: a 12.3-in touchscreen display for entertainment and navigation, a 7.0-in vehicle information display, and a 12.3-in gauge cluster screen. On top of that is a head up display that projects information onto the windshield. The LX does a great job of mixing touch screens with physical buttons, making most controls easily accessible at all times. The LX combines this tech with seats that are generously sized, plush, and supportive. Most trims come with a 7-passenger capacity, while the Ultra Luxury LX offers 4 seats and is designed to push the comfort to a place where few luxury SUVs can go.

Lexus LX: Seating

The front seats of the LX are exceptionally comfortable with heating and ventilation standard as well as options for a massaging feature. On top of that, the driver's seat offers 10-way adjustment, including lumbar support and a cushion extender. It will feel like you never left your recliner at home. The back seats start out plenty comfortable with a 60/40-split second-row seat on lower trims, which are heated and have optional ventilation. Or, you can kick things up a notch with reclining captain's chairs on the Ultra luxury trim, which also offer heating, ventilation, and massage options. All trims of the LX are trimmed with leather, with higher trims using semi-aniline leather and the Ultra Luxury trim utilizing diamond-stitch semi-aniline leather. Overall, there's not a bad seat in the house in the LX.

Lexus LX: Interior Features

Lexus LX: Trunk Space

The LX is optimized for passenger space over standard trunk space, so it should be pointed out that with all seats up on the three-row, the LX has only 11 cubic feet of trunk space. This is close to what you would expect out of a sedan. This can jump quickly by placing the third-row seats down so there is still plenty of utility offered. The LX has a lot of storage options, featuring center consoles in both the first and optionally in the second row, door pockets, and plenty of cupholders. Additionally, every trim of the LX comes with a Cool Box in the front center console to keep your drinks chilled. The total cargo space changes based on the trim level; the Premium and Luxury trims have three rows, while the Ultra luxury and optionally the Overland trim only have two rows, which allows for more standard storage. Take a look at the LX trunk space for two- and three-row models:

  • Three-row LX cargo space (behind front row/second row/third row): 64 / 44 / 11 cu ft
  • Two-row LX cargo space (behind front row/second row): 62.4 / 30.9 cu ft

Lexus LX: Sound

One of the most underrated features of the LX is the sound, or rather the lack of sound, while driving it. The LX has been praised by many as being a quiet ride, which, for as large as it is with such a beefy engine, might surprise you. Lexus takes great detail to limit outside noise from thicker windows to sound dampening all of the vehicle. With the available Mark Levinson 25-speaker, 2,400-watt Reference Surround Sound system, you get to choose how much sound you want on your drive.

Lexus LX: Engine Options, Suspension & Performance

The LX has a bevy of performance features that keep your ride smooth and quiet without sacrificing incredible acceleration and handling. It either comes with a twin-turbo V6 or a hybrid twin-turbo V6 powertrain option, with the hybrid version increasing acceleration and achieving better gas mileage at a nominal price increase. An Active Height Control (AHC) system allows for adjustable ride height tailored to various driving conditions, offering multiple height settings. In conjunction with the adaptive variable suspension, the AHC automatically adjusts to the different drive modes and to the terrain you are on, keeping you not only safe but comfortable as well. Whether you're driving on the street or off-road, the LX will optimize your experience.

Don't just take our word for it. Visit Lexus of Brookfield to see why driving the LX is like nothing you have experienced before.

Lexus LX: Performance Features

The LX features an abundance of technology, engineering, and customization that allows the driver to always have an answer for driving conditions. Multi-Terrain Select enables the driver to choose from six distinct modes: Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, and Rock, enhancing off-road driving capabilities. Crawl Control allows the LX to move forward or backward at one of five low-speed settings chosen by the driver: LO, MIDL, MID, MIDH, and HIGH. Downhill Assist Control automatically regulates the hydraulic brake pressure on all four wheels, facilitating a stable descent without wheel lock-up. And a multi-terrain monitor employs four cameras to provide the driver with a comprehensive view around the vehicle. The LX is as comfortable off-road as it is in a more traditional setting. For an even more dynamic performance, consider the F Sport handling package.

Lexus LX: Redesign, Size & Features

Entirely redesigned in 2022, the LX marries superior function with a stunning aesthetic. The overall design is focused on providing a unique aesthetic that still maximizes the interior space. At 200.5 inches long, 78.3 inches wide, and 74.2 inches high, the LX is plenty big. Signature accents like the L-shaped headlights and light bar in the back along with Lexus' new logo layout give the LX a fresh look that will stand out from the crowd. The LX offers three distinct grill types depending on the trim you choose as well as 20-22-inch rims. The LX comes with plenty of features that make life easier:

  • Heated outside mirrors
  • Power tilt-and-slide moonroof
  • Auto Door Closer
  • Power Rear Door with Kick Sensor
  • Headlamp washers
  • Windshield wiper de-icer
Lexus LX blacked out

Lexus LX: Blacked out and bold

New to 2025 is the option for the LX Overtrail. While the LX has plenty of off-road capabilities at all trim levels, some of you may want an SUV that looks the part. The Overtrail package uniquely offers 18-inch rims with 33-inch all-terrain tires. It also offers black accents throughout the vehicle:

  • Aluminum front skid plate
  • Power tilt-and-slide moonroof with black utility roof rails
  • 18-inch six-spoke alloy wheels with a matte gray metallic finish
  • 33-inch all-terrain tires
  • Black outside mirrors
  • Black Chrome bumper trim

Choose the Overtrail in Caviar (black) exterior paint and black semi-aniline leather with black open-pore wood trim interior, and this is the closest you will get to a stock blacked-out LX. Additionally, while the Overtrail comes standard with a 7-passenger configuration you have the option to reduce the seating to 5. This will give you more space in the trunk for off-road supplies and more comfort for the rear passengers as you traverse the terrain.

Lexus LX: Safety Features

Lexus Safety System + 3.0

  • Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist*
  • Lane Tracing Assist
  • Road Sign Assist

Lexus LX FAQs

+

The current iteration of the LX does not offer an 8-seat configuration. Most LX models are 7 seats with a deluxe 4-seat layout for the Ultra Luxury trim and an optional 5-seat layout for the Overtrail trim.

+

At one point in time similarities did exist between these two full-size SUVs but this isn't really the case anymore. Lexus and Toyota share the same parent company, so it's a fair question to ask; however, the LX is a far superior SUV. The LX boasts a more refined interior with higher-quality materials and advanced technology. Additionally, the LX has a more luxurious style compared to the Land Cruiser. Lastly, the LX outperforms the Land Cruiser with enhancements in handling and sound insulation, resulting in a smoother and quieter driving experience.

+

The current iteration of the LX was released in 2022 with some tweaks to trim level options since then.

+

The LX is a longer SUV than the GX by about 3 inches; however, the GX is wider by about 5 inches. The more important question to ask is which SUV has more interior space, and the answer to that would be the LX.

+

The LX 600 is a V6 engine. It either comes as a pure gas option with a twin-turbo V6 or a twin-turbo V6 hybrid version.

+

Yes, the LX requires premium 91-octane gas. Lower-graded gas can cause the LX performance to drop, including worse gas mileage and the potential for engine knocking.
